Lietkabelis Panevezys (1-1) welcomed Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar (2-0) in Round 2 of the 7DAYS EuroCup with the Russian team edging out the hosts 85-84 (23-24, 19-21, 26-19, 17-21).
Down the wire, Stanislav Ilnitskiy hit a clutch 3-pointer to give Lokomotiv an 85-82 lead with 33 seconds remaining. Kalaitzakis cut the deficit to one point, and Gabrielius Maldunas had a chance to win it at the buzzer for Lietkabelis, but his 3-pointer was off, and the hosts celebrated a victory.
It was a close battle in the first half, with Lietkabelis holding a slight lead for most of the time. They had a three-point advantage going into the half (45-42).
However, Lokomotiv went on a 12-0 run in the third quarter to gain a 58-52 advantage. But Panagiotis Kalaitzakis tied the game at 82 with 2:07 remaining in the fourth period.
