Zalgiris Kaunas prepare for the upcoming double week in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, where they’ll have two away games against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and Anadolu Efes Istanbul.

It will be the second double week for both Zalgiris and new head coach Jure Zdovc. However, unlike the first time, Zdovc had much more time for preparation.

“The schedule isn’t the friend of ours, but we can’t change that,” Zdovc said before the trip to Tel Aviv. “It will be a little bit easier because we have an extra day, which is huge.”

Furthermore, Zalgiris welcomed the good news regarding Emmanuel Mudiay and Janis Strelnieks. Both of them will be available for the upcoming games.

“We trained well in recent days. Although we didn’t have a lot of rest, Janis and Emmanuel came back, which is very important. Now, we have more players, the practices are more efficient,” Zdovc said.

“Both Janis and Emmanuel trained normally, and that’s very important because they’re players who came here to be leaders. Our goal is to maintain the same level of play throughout the whole game, and it should help us,” Zalgiris head coach concluded.

Zalgiris will play Maccabi on Tuesday (8.05 pm CET) and Efes on Friday (7.30 pm CET).
