EuroLeague president and CEO Jordi Bertomeu is going to step down from his post come next summer and the ECA shareholders have already started to look for his replacement, Eurohoops reports.

According to the same report by Aris Barkas, a three-member committee has been created and it has initiated the search for a new CEO. There was no vote on the matter, but there were no objections raised to the process.

"That move means that the 2021-22 season is expected to be the last of Jordi Bertomeu as EuroLeague CEO.

However, according to EuroLeague sources, despite the process, there’s still no agreement on the matter of finding a new CEO. That was one of the main issues of discussions and there’s no intention from any of the 13 clubs which took part in the meeting to leave the competition", Barkas notes.
