With the NBA season set to start between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, Andrew Wiggins of the Golden State Warriors took some time to talk about the upcoming season and the ambitions of the team.
"With all the pieces that we have, I definitely think we're a championship-caliber team," Wiggins said to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The Canadian wing, who decided, in the end, to get vaccinated, is also happy about the possibility of finally playing together with Klay Thompson, who's expected to return on the court at some point during the regular season.
"The whole team sees every day how hard he works, the greatness he brings to the game. I'm excited to play with him, defensively, offensively, all of it", Wiggins explained.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said that he doesn't expect Wiggins to be the main factor offensively: "We're not counting on him to score 25 points a night. With the way our team is built this year, we've got a lot of guys that can make shots", the coach said.
