On September 25, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv announced that center Ante Zizic suffered a torn hamstring which would keep him out of action for six weeks.

That's why the Israeli powerhouse signed a two-month contract with French center Mathias Lessort. However, it seems that the Croatian center will no longer be sidelined.

According to Israeli reporter Yakov Meir, Zizic returned to Maccabi's routine on Saturday (October 16), just three weeks after his injury. The 24-year-old is getting ready for his first game in the 2021-22 season, the EuroLeague Round 5 game against Panathinaikos in Tel Aviv next Thursday.

Zizic averaged 9.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 11.4 PIR over 19.9 minutes in the EuroLeague last season. He accumulated 13.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 17.9 PIR over 22.4 minutes in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.

The team coached by Giannis Sfairopoulos will travel on Sunday to Gan Nar to be hosted by Hapoel Gilboa in a re-enactment of last season's final. Scottie Wilbekin and Derrick Williams will be left out of the squad under the foreign players' restrictions. Lessort will also miss that game.
