Former Maccabi Tel Aviv and Zenit Saint Petersburg center Tarik Black is about to get waived by the Denver Nuggets, JD Shaw of Hoopsrumors reports.

The former Kansas big man scored 6 points and took 4 rebounds in the only preseason game played with the Nuggets. He was under an Exhibit-10 contract.

Black finished the 2020-21 season with Zenit, reaching the EuroLeague playoffs. He had 5.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 15 minutes over seven EuroLeague contests.

Prior to Zenit, Black played for Maccabi Tel Aviv, averaging 11.0 points and 5.4 rebounds during the 2018-2019 season and 9.1 points on 61.8% two-point shooting plus 4.8 rebounds in 11 EuroLeague games in the 2019-20 campaign, which was cut short for him due to injury and for all teams involved because of the pandemic.

He then took a one-year hiatus from playing to be close to his family and welcome his baby daughter.

"The reason why I set off for a while was my daughter being born. I had to make sure that my family was safe. I wanted to be careful and my daughter to be healthy. So, I spent some time with her before I got reacclimated and set back to the basketball world," the 29-year-old center explained to TalkBasket.net.
