Zalgiris Kaunas stood up against Olympiacos at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, but the Lithuanian resistance was short-lived since the hosts stormed into a 47-29 partial score in the second half to force the visitors into their fourth loss in as many EuroLeague contests (68-83).

Jure Zdovc, the newly appointed Zalgiris coach, acknowledged the Reds' supremacy in the latter part of the game.

"I am very disappointed by how we lost the game," Zdovc said in the beginning.

"We had a good start, but in the second half, we showed the complete opposite. We lost control of our offense, we stopped playing defense.

We didn't have any communication and collapsed. Congratulations to coach Bartzokas and his players. We have a lot of work to do. We don't look for excuses and will try to get our first win in the next game," the visitors' coach said.

Asked whether Olympiacos resembles a modern version of Limoges, the team with which Zdovc won the European Championship at the Peace and Friendship in 1993, the Slovenian tactician bestowed the highest praise upon the Greek team.

"I won the EuroLeague here, but it was a long time ago. Olympiacos are one of the top teams in Europe this year. They have all kind of weapons and the quality to be the best team in Europe."
