UNICS did it by playing extremely well in the second half, outscoring Bayern 47-33. The head coach of the German team, Andrea Trinchieri, thinks this was his team's worst game so far.

"Congratulations to UNICS. We had a very poor performance. We didn't look as a team," Trinchieri said post-game. "We really played very bad, looking to our mentality, our desire to fight. And this is, by far, our worst game. We cannot play like this. We cannot throw opportunities in the garbage like this."

"For the first time, I am concerned about the mentality of my team. I need to do something fast. Because if you're not ready to fight, you're wearing the wrong jersey."

The Italian coach emphasized the exceptional performance of Isaiah Canaan, who led UNICS with 21 points.

"We didn't execute [in the second half] and didn't play as a team. And these little things crunch me the most. We were controlling pretty well in the first half, but the guy who changed the game was Canaan with some tough shots. I believe he is super talented and had some big plays, but we didn't control too many players.

We didn't control Canaan, Brown, Hezonja. It is a little bit too much to win on the road in the EuroLeague. I hope that we feel the desire to bounce back."

On the opposing side, UNICS got their first EuroLeague victory this season, to the delight of head coach Velimir Perasovic.

"I am very happy for the first victory in the EuroLeague this season, and maybe it is against the best team of the three that we played, for the quality of the players, for their experience."

Perasovic touched on the aspects that weren't going well for UNICS in the first half and how they flipped the switch in the second half.

"We started the game really bad, without energy, without concentration, with a lot of turnovers. We finished the first half with 12 turnovers, which is a lot. We took control of the rebounds, which is very good, very important for us, but we had big problems against them on offense.

We couldn't score easy, and the 11-point difference [at halftime] was not very high considering how we played. But in the second half, we started to play very aggressive, fought for every ball, and made Bayern feel uncomfortable on the court. I think the second half was the best second half that we played so far this season."
