Panathinaikos OPAP Athens departed for Vitoria on Monday morning ahead of tomorrow's away game against Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz for EuroLeague Round 3.
"Many teams are not in shape at the moment and are looking for benchmarks. One such team is Baskonia, but so are we. It is a difficult week," the Greens' coach Dimitris Priftis said before his team's departure.
"Against Baskonia, we expect a physical game, a lot of pressure and contact. We will have to cope with their defense so as not to make wrong passes and not to give up easy points in transition.
Some points need attention, such as Giedraitis, who is a good shooter. In general, Spanish teams have some good shooters from off-screen situations," Priftis continued.
Asked about Nemanja Nedovic and whether his performance against Fenerbahce Beko makes him optimistic, the experienced coach commented:
"It does make me optimistic, but he is not 100% ready yet. I don't know if and whether such performances will occur on a consistent basis.
The main thing for him is to be healthy, and at some point, he will be playing at his usual level for a long time. Nedovic's presence helped us a lot in our offensive play against Fener."
