Olympiacos Piraeus have started the season strong, going 2-0 in the EuroLeague and also in the Greek League, where they blew out Lavrio (72-108) last Sunday.

Team captain Giorgos Printezis spoke to the Greek national television, immediately after that last game, emphasizing the Reds' return to the domestic league after a two-year absence.

The 36-year-old forward explained that "the motivation is there and it's too big. We were missing two years from domestic competitions and those games give us rhythm and help us improve as a team. I think it's still too early to say big words."

He added that "we have played two very strong games against Baskonia and Real Madrid. The season is too long. We still have more than 30 games to play.

It takes proper management, freshness, energy, chemistry. We have started the season well, certainly, and the expectations can be great. But what my experience has taught me is that the more humbly one manages games the more easily it is to handle both defeat and victory."

Finally, he spoke about the post-Spanoulis era, stating that "the first thing a team should do when losing such a player is to look for another Spanoulis.

Every player is different, everyone has something different to add to our defense and offense. There's Sloukas, Walkup, Dorsey. They certainly cannot be compared to Spanoulis, but they are very good players".
