FC Barcelona went into this season with a lower budget. However, 2PlayBook reports that the Catalan team maintained a substantial budget for players and staff - 36€ million.

That is the largest amount in the team's history and exceeds last year's budget of 35€ million.

Barcelona also plans to close the current season with 27.4€ million in losses, only 1.4€ million less than the previous season.

It is reported that Barca were planning to limit their losses, but Nikola Mirotic's and other players' refusal to have his salary reduced prevented that from happening.

In comparison, the Spanish powerhouse lost 28.8€ million last season and 28.21€ million in the 2019-20 campaign.

On a positive note, Barcelona plans to increase its annual turnover from 12.3€ to 14€ million with fans back in the arenas and despite television revenue falling from 3.94€ to 3.59€ million.
