"I want to congratulate the team, the players, and the fans on the first victory, Bartzokas said after the game." Obviously, the first match of the season, especially at home, hides a lot of pressure, and it's always difficult. We are talking about a team (Baskonia) that beat us twice last year."

"We were solid defensively. We executed the shots as we should. Our guards had 13 defensive rebounds, and that was one of the key points we had highlighted.

And despite the fact that we didn't shoot well on three-pointers, with less than 30%, we won easily, because we stole a lot of balls, distributed them correctly, and did all the important things that you have to do in basketball," Olympiacos' head coach continued.

An impressive win by a big margin can always excite fans, asking for a faster offensive pace. However, the Greek coach believes that his team should pay attention to both ends of the floor.

"We have talent (on offense), but we also played good defense. We conceded 50 points, maybe Baskonia were on a bad day too. But, generally, we played hard, creating conditions that were not pleasant for them. We have talent, we can score, but we also have to be consistent."

Bartzokas also commented on Martin's condition, who is coming off after the surgery and hasn't caught up with the rest of his teammates yet.

"We can also play Jean Charles at the five. I don't have a problem. Hassan was good in the first half. He took 2-3 balls in traffic, it was our guards' fault to give him the ball. He hasn't missed any training sessions since we started preparation, and he's better every day. So, no, I'm not worried at all."
