Adam Hanga left FC Barcelona in the off-season, but he didn't get far. The Hungarian forward went to the side of their opposition and joined Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old told Mundo Deportivo that he has a new role in Madrid.

"Throughout my career, I have played in many positions and many roles. Now I am adapting to my role as a forward, and I feel very happy. There are games in which I contribute more on offense and others in which defense is more important. There is no problem because the most important thing is to win games," Hanga said.

Real will start their Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season on Thursday with a match against the reigning champions, Anadolu Efes Istanbul.

"We are looking forward to it," Real's newcomer said. "We know the importance of the game and that we started against the champion. We have had a good start to the season with three wins in the Liga ACB. Every game in the EuroLeague is important, especially to start the season well."

"Anadolu has been with the same players for a long time, and they are very talented, but we have to think about ourselves and what we can do to seek victory."

In his eight-year EuroLeague career, Hanga has never won the strongest European tournament. However, his goal is to finally raise the trophy.

"My goal is to compete at the highest level, but I really want to win the EuroLeague. I know how much work has to be done, but the most important thing is the path," he said.

According to Hanga, there are some favorites to win the EuroLeague, but at the same time, anybody can do it.

"Efes may have a better chance because they are the champions and maintained the same team. The competition is very tough, and in the end, it is decided by one match. All teams are very excited, and there are between four and six or seven teams that can win," Hanga concluded.
