After losing Ante Zizic for at least six weeks due to a torn hamstring, Maccabi Tel Aviv have found a replacement.
The Israeli powerhouse signed a two-month contract with French center Mathias Lessort, the club announced on Tuesday. The news were first broken by Roi Cohen of Sport5.
Lessort represented AS Monaco last season, helping them claim the 7DAYS EuroCup title. The 25-year-old averaged 12.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 17.8 PIR over 24.5 minutes in the EuroCup.
The 2.06 m big man also recorded 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks over 2 EuroCup finals games against UNICS Kazan.
It was previously reported that Alex Tyus was on the radar of the Maccabi as well.
