Following the news on Rokas Giedraitis's injury, Baskonia suffered their first ACB League defeat of the season, at the hands of Joventut Badalona by 72-61 (20-19, 15-5, 20-18, 17-19). A few days before the Basque squad visits the Peace & Friendship Stadium to face Olympiacos in the EuroLeague premiere, Dusko Ivanovic saw his players void of energy.

Badalona were superior for the most part, managing to keep their opponents low on the scoreboard. The second quarter proved disastrous for Baskonia, as they scored only 5 points in that span. The hosts had built a double-digit lead at half-time, which they preserved until the end thanks to their defense.

For the winners, Brodzianski had 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Willis added 15 points and 7 rebounds. Veteran Ante Tomic was equally important in several areas, contributing 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists) in an all-around performance.

Baskonia got the best out of Wade Baldwin (23 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists), but his exuberant presence was not enough. Sedekerskis also tried (9 points, 5 rebounds), however, the visitors played way sub-par.
