Fraport Skyliners signed a one-year deal with the Senegalese Brancou Badio. The contract also includes an option for the 2022-23 season.

Badio is already in Frankfurt and going through his medical examinations. After that, he will start training with a squad.

Diego Ocampo (head coach of Skyliners) was happy about the new addition to the roster: "Brancou is a very good athlete with an incredible attitude. He came to FC Barcelona from the fifth Spanish league and immediately showed that he can play at the new level. He did the same at the FIBA AfroBasket 2021, played at a very high level, and helped the team to take third place. He's very quick, plays very well in one-on-one, and pick-and-roll situations. He's also a very complete defender. It will bring us a lot of energy and even more ambition. He always plays with 100%. We'll see how he adapts to the game in easyCredit BBL, but I'm sure he'll play well."

The 22-year-old (1.88) played seven games for the first team of FC Barcelona and averaged 3 points and 1 rebound. He also two times appeared in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague but remained scoreless.

Past year the versatile point guard had his main focus on the second Barca's team (2nd Spanish division). There Brancou Badio averaged 10.9 points and 3.8 rebounds in 28 games. In the 2019-20 season, he registered 13.5 points per 25 contests.

"Papi" left a big footprint at the AfroBasket 2021. For his home country, he averaged 15.8 points, 4 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in 6 games with solid accuracy numbers of 51.4% two-pointers, 40.6% three-pointers, and 94.7% free throws.
