LDCL ASVEL Villeurbanne suffered an upset in the final game of the preparation stage. T.J. Parker's squad lost to the LNB Pro A newbies Fos Provence Basket 73-80 (21-20, 22-18, 16-24, 14-18). ASVEL got two wins and five losses in the pre-season.
ASVEL's newcomer Chris Jones scored 14 points for the French powerhouse, Kostas Antetokounmpo and David Lighty added 10 points each.
Yesterday the Villeurbanne's team officially announced an agreement with James Gist. The contract was signed until the end of 2021.
ASVEL start their Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season next week, on October 1st, playing at home against Zalgiris Kaunas.
