Valencia got the first win of the season in Liga ACB after beating BAXI Manresa easily 69-89 (17-22, 16-11, 21-28, 20-23) on the road. The team coached by Joan Penarroya was lead especially by the two young guns in the backcourt, Nenad Dimitrijevic and Joseph Puerto, who both finished with 17 points apiece.

At the end of the first half, Valencia had already a comfortable lead, being up by 10 points while shooting the ball from outside effectively. Valencia came out strong also in the third quarter but Manresa tried to fight back, getting closer again (down only by 6 points with 6 minutes left on the third quarter) but during their best moment, Valencia regained some momentum after an appropriate timeout called by coach Penarroya.

In the final quarter, Manresa kept a good level of intensity but the disadvantage was already too big to be recovered. Victor Claver finished with 13 points and 4 rebounds, while Louis Labeyrie had the same stat line (13 points and 4 rebounds).

For Manresa, the top scorer was French guard Sylvain Francisco with 15 points, 7 assists, and 3 steals, while Janis Berzins finished with 14 points and 2 rebounds.
