As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, former NBA superstar Manu Ginobili is returning to the San Antonio Spurs, the team where he spent his entire NBA career, as a special advisor to basketball operations. Ginobili will work in a player-centric role focusing on the on-and-off court development of a young Spurs roster, Wojnarowski added in his story.

Ginobili officially retired from basketball in 2018 and since that moment the Spurs have been trying to convince him to join the Spurs' front office in some kind of capacity to provide his insight and leadership. 

In his NBA career, Ginobili won four NBA titles (2003, 2005, 2007, and 2014) and was named Sixth Man of the Year in 2008. Ginobili also won a gold medal with the Argentinian NT in the 2004 Olympic Games. Ginobili also won a Euroleague title back in 2001 with Virtus Bologna.
