As reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Detroit Pistons are expected to convert Luka Garza's two-way contract to a standard NBA contract. The news was confirmed by the player's agents. The Detroit Pistons made it official a few hours later.

Garza was drafted by the Pistons with the 52nd pick overall in this year's draft and he had originally signed a two-way contract back in August. During the Summer League, Garza showed some very positive signs, averaging 15 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.

The Iowa alumn had a stellar season in his senior year at college, averaging 24 points and 8.7 rebounds per game while shooting 44% from three-point. Garza has also expressed his intention to represent Bosnia. Garza's mother is from Bosnia and the player is currently in the process of getting his double citizenship. Garza is also the cousin of Amar Alibegovic, currently under contract with Virtus Bologna in Italy and who has already represented Bosnia internationally.
