Umberto Gandini, the president of the Italian Legabasket, officially announced today that the Final Eight of the Italian Cup will take place in Pesaro from February 16 to February 20, 2022. Last season's edition of the Final Eight was played in Milan.

There'll be also a new format for the competition. Usually, the Final Eight has been played during a weekend, from Friday to Sunday with games every single day. This time the games will be a little bit more stretched over the week. The quarter-finals will be played on Wednesday and Thursday, on Friday there'll be a full day off, then on Saturday and Sunday, there'll be semifinals and final.

AX Armani Exchange Milan won the last edition of the Italian Cup after beating VL Pesaro in the final game. Yesterday evening, instead, Virtus Bologna took home the first trophy of the Italian season, winning the Supercup after beating Milan 90-84.
