UNICS Kazan have officially announced the arrival of the former NBA swingman O.J. Mayo. Both sides have agreed to a one-year deal.
In 2016, Mayo was suspended for two years from the NBA after failing the league's anti-drug program. He spent the last three seasons playing in Puerto Rico, Taiwan, and China.
Mayo was the third overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He played for the Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks, and Milwaukee Bucks during his time in the NBA.
His best year in the NBA was his rookie season when Mayo averaged 18.5 points (38.4% 3PT), 3.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists with the Grizzlies.
The 33-year-old averaged 20.2 points (44.9% 3PT), 4.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in the Chinese Basketball Association last season.
