Real Madrid (1-0) opened their season with a win against Basketball Champions League winners San Pablo Burgos (0-1) 70-63 (21-18, 15-16, 19-18, 15-11).

The whole match went back and forth. With 5 minutes to go, Dani Diez gave Burgos the two-point lead (55-53). However, the Royal club made a crucial 17-8 run, while Guerschon Yabusele closed the game with 21 seconds on the clock.

Hungarian small forward Adam Hanga led the winners with 14 points, while also adding 8 rebounds, and 1 assist. He scored 5 points in the fourth quarter.

Sergio Llull had 12 points, Vincent Poirier accumulated 11 and grabbed 9 rebounds.
