Italian Eurocup team Virtus Segafredo Bologna officially introduced Ty-Shon Alexander as a new player of the team. The American combo guard arrived yesterday in Italy and he's now ready to join coach Sergio Scariolo and the rest of his teammates. Alexander showed a lot of enthusiasm for this opportunity.

"I'm really happy to be here, it's an honor to play for this club", the former Phoenix Suns guard said. "I'm ready to bring my energy on both ends of the court. I hope that I can learn a lot from coach Scariolo and from my teammates. I've just arrived so I don't know much about European basketball but my goal is to be fully available for the team and produce constantly. I'll try to adapt as fast as I can to this new environment".

Paolo Ronci, the general director of the club, said that Alexander is not a replacement for anybody and that the team was looking at him for a while now: "Ty-Shon is not a replacement. We've strengthened our scouting department this summer and we were already looking at him. Ty-Shon can play two roles and this is an important thing for us because we have several players that can cover multiple positions. He has good defensive skills and he's a solid three-point shooter. He's also a very young player so we can work with him also for the future".
