Duke freshman Paolo Banchero hasn't even played a single minute yet but, in his own way, has already made a historical step of his career. The American/Italian prospect will become the first college player to be featured in the new NBA 2K22, the popular basketball videogame produced by 2K Games.

Starting from July 1st of this year, college players are allowed to sign endorsement deals and monetize from their own image. This deal, though, is a huge step for Banchero, considering how popular NBA 2K is. The player will have his own character in the game and, as part of the deal, will also create additional content over the course of the season.

Banchero is currently considered among the top prospects of the 2022 NBA Draft. He has also received an Italian passport and has stated his willingness to play for the Italian NT but hasn't made his debut yet. With so much hype surrounding him, it wouldn't be surprising to see Banchero waiting before deciding for which country he'll play in the future.
