It was previously reported that Pablo Prigioni was one of two candidates to become the new head coach of the Argentinian NT. However, the other candidate was chosen for the job, as Nestor Garcia becomes the new leader for Argentina, David Carro Funes reports.

The 56-year-old has coached more than 20 South American clubs since the start of his coaching career in 1990.

Garcia has already coached Argentina at the 2012 London Olympics. His team finished fourth after losing to Russia at the bronze medal game.

The basketball specialist has also coached four other National Teams: Uruguay (2003), Venezuela (2013-17), and the Dominican Republic (2019).
