Xabi Lopez-Arostegui has undergone surgery to solve inconveniences due to the left ankle injury, per the official Valencia Basket report.

The 24-year-old suffered the injury during his participation with the Spanish national team in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Lopez-Arostegui has not been able to join the Valencian team's pre-season. Due to the operation, the 2.00-meter forward will miss the start of the ACB League and the 7DAYS EuroCup.

The club did not declare an approximate period of the player's recovery.

Xabi Lopez-Arostegui joined Valencia forces this summer, on July 5. He signed a four-year deal. The Spaniard arrived from Joventut Badalona, where he averaged 12.3 points (40% 3PT) and 4.9 rebounds in 16 7DAYS EuroCup games last season.

In the Tokyo Olympics, Xabi played only one game (3 minutes) and grabbed one rebound.
