Daniele Baiesi, sporting director of Bayern Munich, spoke to the website Eurodevotion right after the end of 'The City of Cagliari Tournament' and talked about the summer that Bayern just had and what are the expectations for the season.

"We want to be as competitive as we were last season, playing every game like it's the last. Last season we were able to do that, hopefully, we'll be able to do it again. We're happy with the roster that we've built because we have many options in the backcourt and big men who are ready to sacrifice for the team. We have an interesting mix of young and more experienced players, plus we have the best coach around."

About the transfer market, Baiesi said that it was a very particular off-season: "It was a very atypical off-season because a lot of teams moved really quickly and in a very consistent way. Several players already agreed to deals before the end of last season or just right after the end.

For us, it didn't change much because we always move after the others. We were lucky because the players we wanted to add were still available on the market, we've been following some of them for a long time. For example, Darrun Hilliard, he's a player that I know really well. He knows that here with us he's gonna have a different role compared to the one he had with CSKA," explained Bayern's top executive.
