Rick Pitino came back to OAKA Arena in Athens, but this time as Iowa’s head coach.

NCAA team lost 66-73 to Panathinaikos OPAP Athens in a friendly game, and Pitino was very impressed by the Greek champions.

“Really like what Dimitri’s Priftis, head coach of Panathinaikos, is doing defensively. Changing full court pressure and keeping the heat on the offense. When Nedovic, White, and Evans are added this will be a formidable Euroleague team!” Pitino wrote on Twitter.

For Priftis, the upcoming season will be a debut in the EuroLeague as a head coach. Last season, he led UNICS Kazan to the EuroCup final but lost the series 0-2 to AS Monaco.
