Among the favorites to win the EuroCup title this year Partizan NIS Belgrade have started their preparation for the upcoming season. The first reinforcement of the rebuilt team, Kevin Punter, also began his new chapter in the Serbian capital.

The former AX Armani Exchange Milan player revealed to Mozzart Sport that he had no dilemma when the invitation to join the black and whites arrived.

After a great season in Milan, where he averaged 14.3, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 36 EuroLeague games and reached the Final Four, the American guard decided to leave the elite competition, in order to be a part of a new, ambitious squad: "I'm blessed, that's all I can say. Blessed and excited."

Kevin Punter, like the Partizan fans, is extremely satisfied with the quality of the team that gathered in Belgrade. Additions of Zach Leday, Radions Kuruc, Dallas Moore, Alen Smailagic, and Aleksa Avramovic made the difference.

"I'm happy and excited. The team looks good. I can't wait to get started," said Punter.

He does not hide that the main reason for his arrival was Zeljko Obradovic. The Serbian coaching legend personally convinced him to join the Belgrade team. "It was great. Everyone in Europe knows who he is. When he wants you and when you have the opportunity to build something new - I couldn't say no."

The guard is also familiar with the Serbian fans and knows a lot about the history of Partizan. Punter has already played in Belgrade when he represented Crvena Zvezda mts during the 2019-20 season.

"We all know that Partizan has a great history. I came here because of the coach and his vision. Partizan is certainly a club with a great tradition and I had no question," explained Punter. "He just wants me to be my own. The head coach wants me to be a real teammate."

Punter is also looking forward to meeting the Red Star, as he enjoys the atmosphere created by rival fans: "Without a doubt. I can't wait, I'm excited and ready."

Asked about his ambitions in a black and white jersey, the American guard wasn't shy about his wishes to win as many titles as possible. "That's the main goal."
