With most EuroLeague teams having their preseason schedules set, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv faces unforeseen difficulties.

The team announced today that they might not be able to travel abroad for preseason tournaments. The Israeli powerhouse were supposed to participate in three friendly tournaments in Greece and Cyprus. However, the local Ministry of Health are not allowing the team to travel abroad.

While Maccabi will be allowed to travel to official games once the season kicks off, the Ministry of Health are not treating the preseason games as official. Therefore, the team asked the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Sports to treat them as such, similar to the official games in the European leagues, and to find a solution that will allow participation in the game.

Maccabi are scheduled to participate in two friendly tournaments in Greece, featuring teams like Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, Anadolu Efes, Partizan NIS Belgrade, Olympiacos Piraeus, AS Monaco, and Lavrio Megabolt. They are also set to take on CSKA Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg in Cyprus.
