Mike Tobey just played a fantastic Olympic tournament with the Slovenian NT and together with Luka Doncic reached the semi-finals. His great performances during the Olympics attracted the interest of some NBA teams but, as reported by Marc Stein of The New York Times, Tobey is not expected to return to the United States this summer.

The former Virginia alum has one year left on his deal with the Spanish team Valencia. There's also a very conspicuous buyout in his contract that would make it very difficult for him to leave this summer.

The big man briefly played with the Charlotte Hornets during the 2016-2017 season but he was waived after signing a couple of 10-day contracts with the team. In this past season with Valencia, Tobey averaged 9.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in Spain.
