Unicaja Malaga has a new floor general. The Spanish team has announced the incorporation of the Italian national team player Marco Spissu for the next two years.

At the age of 26, he is one of the emerging players in his country, currently competing at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The project of Fotis Katsikaris thus adds its second signing of the summer.

Born in the capital of Sardinia, Sassari, Spissu was formed in Dinamo Sassari, where he has been part of the first squad for the last 4 seasons.

In the 2020-21 campaign he emerged as one of his team's most outstanding players, averaging 12.7 points, 5.4 assists, 42.1% on 3-point shooting and 15.9 in PIR. In the Basketball Champions League, his averages were very similar: 11.6 points, 6.9 assists, 49% from behind the arc, and 15.4 in efficiency. Thanks to his passing abilities, he finished first in assists in the BCL and fifth in the Italian League, under Gianmarco Pozzecco's guidance.
