With the uncertainty of Damian Lillard’s future in the Portland Trail Blazers, Jusuf Nurkic made his own statement.
“I don’t know what has changed with Lillard in these two days,” klix.ba quotes Nurkic. “As far as I know, the man stays here, but if he’s leaving, so am I. In my opinion, it would be stupid to let go of such a loyal guy like Lillard.”
Bosnian big man also added that he does not expect to see the Blazers' involvement in any trades.
“After the last game of the season, I said that change must happen. In four years, we reached the Western Conference finals only once, which is not enough for a team like Portland. I was told that no one would be traded and only the coach would change,” said Nurkic.
Earlier, Chris Haynes from Yahoo Sports reported that coaching search and concerns over whether the Blazers can be a championship contender had become significant factors that could force Lillard to request out.
On Tuesday, the Trail Blazers formally introduced their new head coach Chauncey Billups.
