The Russian national team's final roster has been revealed for the upcoming Olympic qualifiers.

Coach Sergei Bazarevich had 14 players try out for the tournament, but ultimately two young forwards - Anton Kvitkovsky and Filipp Gafurov - were cut.

"It is always a tough decision," coach Bazarevich said. "Perhaps this time it was easier because Gafurov got injured. We were hoping to have him on our squad, but Filipp was unable to recover in time."

"Kvitkovsky lacks experience, but he showed in practice that he has a bright future ahead of him," Bazarevich added.

The Russians will compete in Group A of the FIBA Olympic Qualifiers Tournament in Split, Croatia, where they will face Germany and Mexico. The teams comprising Group B are Brazil, Tunisia, and the hosts - Croatia.
